If you’d like to join us on a bold endeavor of the brewed variety, or if you simply enjoy playing an integral role of your hometown’s history, we want you as a partner. With your investment, you’ll contribute to the building of a new, impeccable brand of beer. This beer, as well as a potential future restaurant directly next door to the brewery, will help fuel Lowertown’s future, bringing in connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike from all over the region. Together, we will forever stamp this neighborhood’s name onto the map of amazing American breweries.
Since the stirring whistle of steamboats and locomotives first echoed through the bustling streets of early Lowertown, St. Paul, this place has been a Mecca of ingenuity and a hub of human activity. This blast furnace of culture, commerce and camaraderie began along the frontier, a microcosm of American progress and potential. It was a sixteen block area forged by both the raw hard work, and the beer, that would fuel the destiny of an entire region. It will be once again.
Right now, Lowertown is in the midst of a booming cultural renaissance; a revival of our local pride as well as our love for brewed bullion, and Lowertown Brewing Company will be at its epicenter. We’re taking this historic neighborhood back to an era when people made things happen over beers just around the corner, when major decisions were made half in the bag, and when men… they tipped their hats. And we’re doing it through the world’s greatest beverage: beer. Really, really good beer.
In the midst of such vibrant diversity, we’ve all got beer in common.
What would this All-American neighborhood be without baseball? It wouldn’t be as All-American, that’s for sure. That’s why our beloved St. Paul Saints have made their home right in the heart of Lowertown, at CHS Field. This stadium happens to be a foul-ball’s distance away from the site of Lowertown Brewing Company, which means that every game day will bring a flood of thirsty fans through our door. It’s a brewer’s dream location.
Just around the corner from Lowertown Brewing Company is the St. Paul Farmers Market, where locals have been loading up on fresh fruits and vegetables for over 160 years. Every weekend throughout the year, the streets of Lowertown are filled with farmers’ market foot traffic, bringing countless beer lovers looking for something to wash down their beets and broccoli. We’ll be there to accommodate with a variety of beautiful brews.
Music in the Park
Without a doubt, Minnesota families love music, food trucks and local craftsmen-and-women. They also love parks. Bring them all together and you’ve got yourself a party. In the warmer months, Mears Park hosts weekly a wide variety of musicians, music lovers and highly inventive food truckers from all over the area. Fortunately, beer makes all of these things even better, and they’re the perfect excuse to mosey on in for a sample or six.
The Union Depot in Lowertown is the last stop on the Green Line, the latest achievement in Minnesota mass-transit. But, the end of the line is worth the ride. Now, locals and out-of-towners alike have easy-access to our prime location from as far away as MSP Airport, Mall of America and downtown Minneapolis. This also allows our patrons to imbibe in some of our great beer while avoiding the urge, and the need, to get behind the wheel.
Over the past decade, the aromas from the most amazing Americana restaurants in Minnesota have been drawing in foodies near and far into Lowertown. The neighborhood is lined with the latest trends in culinary creativity and tastebud tantalization, and the food scene is only growing. This makes the potential for a new restaurant next door to Lowertown Brewing Company, in the Commission House Building more appetizing than ever.
In the middle of the beautiful old buildings of the all-urban Lowertown neighborhood sits a little slice of nature and meeting place for the masses known as Mears Park. This pleasant piece of property has a past with more ups and downs than the elevator in the First National Bank building. But the crafts music, flowers and food trucks throughout the warmer months are helping to make this chapter in Mears Park’s story the brightest one thus far.
